When a tooth’s structure has been compromised due to trauma or extensive dental repairs, it needs protection. Chewing and jaw pressure can lead to further damage if the tooth is left unprotected. Dental crowns, inlays and onlays offer options to protect damaged teeth – all available at Dental Care Acworth with ourΒ general dentistryΒ treatments.

Restore Cracked or Damaged Teeth

Dental crowns are a protective covering for teeth that fit over the outside of the tooth. Crowns or caps can be made from metals like gold or silver or with white materials like ceramic or porcelain. Dental crowns are used to repair broken or damaged teeth that need protection. They can be used as part of restorative procedures like dental bridges or dental implants to replace missing teeth. In some cases, dental crowns can be used as part of a cosmetic procedure to cover an aesthetically flawed tooth orΒ teeth.

Dental Inlays and Onlays

In some cases, a full dental crown is not needed, but the tooth may still need protection. Inlays and onlays of porcelain are used to give the tooth structure and stability on just one side or the top portion of the tooth. Inlays and onlays are often used when the repair is too large for a filling. Unlike fillings, inlays and onlays are created in a lab and then bonded to the tooth instead of hardening within the tooth. This can limit the stress on the tooth, protecting it from furtherΒ damage.

This was my first time at Dental Care Acworth. The office was very clean and Dr. Wendling and staff were very caring and professional. I had one tooth filled and one extraction . The best part ( No pain). I will return to this Dental office in the future and highly recommend them.

Great dental care and amazing doctors! For capping my tooth we had a small misunderstanding and setback but they went out of their way to make it right for me and treated me with respect! I’m terrible with names but the doctor, i believe she’s Latin like me, and wears glasses. She puts 100% into her work and making sure everything is perfect. And the assistant with a low blonde ponytail was also very kind and knowledgeable. Me and my family will definitely continue coming to Dental Care Acworth!

This is truly the best dental office I have ever visited! Mayra and Dr. Melissa were exceptional. They accommodated me for a same-day cleaning and provided wonderful care from start to finish. I first came to this office several years ago for a second opinion after another dental practice told me I would need a dental implant costing between $4,000 and $6,000. Instead, Dr. Mitchell was able to save what he described as a healthy tooth by placing a crown. I remain incredibly grateful for his honesty, transparency, and conservative approach to my care. Despite staff changes over the years, the kindness and quality of care have remained consistently outstanding. Even the receptionist, Maggieβ€”I hope I remembered her name correctlyβ€”was friendly and helpful! I will gladly recommend this office to everyone I know. The entire team makes an experience many people dread feel comfortable and pleasant. They all deserve raises!

I had an excellent experience at Dental Care of Acworth. They were able to schedule me right away for my dental emergency, which I truly appreciated. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and welcoming, creating a very comfortable environment. I also appreciated how clearly they explained every step of the process, including the treatment options and costs, before proceeding. Their prices were very affordable, and I never felt pressured into any treatment. Excellent customer service, professionalism, transparency, and affordable care. I highly recommend Dental Care of Acworth!

This is the best Dental practice I have ever been to. Dr Melissa’s and her staff are not only professionals at what they do but they do everything in a compassionate and caring manner. Dr Mellissa took the time to explain the dental care that was needed, options, and always gave estimates on each procedure. This was the only dental office where I felt that they were not trying to upsell me. Their in house dental plans are very competitive and are a great option for dental coverage.
