VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS VIA TELEDENTISTRY & COVID-19 UPDATE:
Yesterday, Governor Kemp announced a graduated plan to reopen the economy with guidelines allowing certain businesses to reopen. His guidance did not provide any suggestions for healthcare providers, including dental offices. Rather, healthcare providers were advised to follow CDC guidelines.
Making these decisions is not easy. We need to consider the business itself, and the financial well-being of all of the staff members you have gotten to know over the years. After thinking about this at length, we’ve decided that Dental Care Acworth will not reopen until we feel we can treat our patients safely and protect our staff. We are going to do everything in our power to prevent its transmission in our office, both from patient to staff, and from staff to patient. Until the proper protective measures are in place and we have access to them, we will simply not risk it. The cost of coming back too early is severe illness or possible death.
Until we are able to serve you again, please continue to be patient, and thank you for understanding why we feel the need to make these difficult decisions. We will not put anyone’s life in danger. Without you as patients and without my team, there would be no Dental Care Acworth. Because your health and well-being are our number one priority, I’ve been researching how I can provide you with dental care remotely. I’ve decided to offer teledentistry via virtual consultations, providing safe, effective, and convenient care via computer, tablet, or mobile device – to both new and existing patients. All our teledentistry appointments include live video discussions with myself or our staff member, similar to your in-office experience. As a visual specialty, we are able to handle a wide array of dental issues via virtual appointment, including:
- Pain/swelling/discomfort
- TMJ pain
- Implant Consults
- Second Opinions
- And more
Although this will not allow us to physically see you, it will allow us to speak to you via video and provide recommendations and prescriptions for medication, if needed. Just like our in-office appointments, some of these visits are complimentary, while others are usually covered by insurance or a flat consultation rate.
