Wisdom Teeth Removal

Wisdom teeth removal is a common procedure that helps prevent pain, crowding, and future dental problems. At Dental Care Acworth, we understand that the idea of surgery can feel stressful, so we focus on making the experience simple and comfortable. Our team takes time to explain everything clearly, so you know exactly what to expect before moving forward with treatment.

Expert Surgical Care from a Board-Certified Oral Surgeon

Having your wisdom teeth removed by an experienced professional makes a big difference in both comfort and recovery. We use modern techniques and careful planning to ensure the procedure is safe and efficient. Whether your teeth are fully erupted or impacted, our approach is always focused on precision and patient care.

Understanding Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are the last set of molars to develop, usually appearing in your late teens or early twenties. In many cases, there isn’t enough space in the jaw for them to grow properly. This can lead to crowding, infection, or damage to nearby teeth, making removal the best option for long-term oral health.

Signs You May Need Wisdom Teeth Removed

Common signs include pain at the back of your mouth, swollen gums, difficulty opening your jaw, or repeated infections. Some patients may also notice increased sensitivity, especially when dealing with concerns like teeth whitening and tooth sensitivity, which can make existing discomfort more noticeable. Regular dental visits help catch these issues early.

What to Expect During Wisdom Teeth Extraction

The procedure is typically done under local anesthesia or sedation, depending on your needs. The dentist carefully removes the teeth, sometimes in sections, to make the process smoother. Afterward, mild swelling or discomfort is normal, but most patients recover within a few days. We provide clear aftercare instructions to support healing and reduce complications.

Why Choose Dental Care Acworth

At Dental Care Acworth, we focus on providing honest, patient-first care. We take time to understand your concerns and recommend the best treatment for your situation. Whether you’re comparing options like root canal treatment price Acworth or considering wisdom teeth removal, our goal is to offer reliable solutions that support your long-term oral health and comfort.

For your convenience, this treatment is also available in Buford and Marietta if Duluth is not easily accessible.

I’d been a patient here for several years and previously had very positive experiences. However, at my last visit a few months ago, I had a new hygienist whose tone felt unnecessarily critical, followed by a dentist who focused heavily on recommending multiple additional services in a way that felt more sales-driven than patient-focused. That experience gave me pause, but I decided to give the practice a second chance. When I returned for a 3:00 appointment, I waited 25 minutes past my scheduled time with no communication, and was then told it could be another 15–20 minutes. At that point, combined with the earlier experience, I decided this practice was no longer the right fit for me and left. I won’t be returning.

My recent appointment was a very positive experience. While I've been to this office many times, this was my first occasion meeting Dhara who did my cleaning. She is very kind, funny, and personable. She calmly and clearly explained my treatment plan along with the associated costs. Dhara even gave me toothbrush recommendations and did a great job at easing my nerves and making me feel very comfortable. She is very professional, efficient, and answered all of my questions. Thank you!

I want to give the biggest thank-you to Dr. Mellissa and Ms. Mayra for always providing such exceptional care. They are truly two of the sweetest, most genuine people I’ve ever met in a dental office. Every visit feels personal — they take the time to listen, explain, and make sure I’m completely comfortable. What I appreciate most is how patient and considerate they are. They never rush through anything. Instead, they take their time to ensure everything is done correctly and with the highest level of care. It’s clear that they genuinely want the best for their patients, and that level of dedication is rare. Their kindness, professionalism, and warm personalities make every appointment a positive experience. I truly feel cared for every time I walk in. I’m so grateful for both of them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist who actually cares.
